If you find yourself in Midland, TX this weekend, odds are you will probably get hungry at some point. Luckily for you, Midland, TX is one of the biggest little cities in Texas, and home to dozens of delicious restaurants.
Here are just a few of Midland’s best restaurants:
Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant is located on W Loops 250 N, and is open all seven days of the week.
Start out your meal at Abuelo’s with a delicious appetizer: the Abuelo Dip Sampler starter gives you a taste of many of Abuelo’s dips: queso diablo (cheese and chili), chile con queso, and avocado cream (guacamole dip), all served with chips. Or try the Layered Dip Starter: chile con queso layered with roasted chiles, guacamole, refried beans, seasoned ground beef, sour cream, and diced tomatoes, also served with chips. Another good option is the Green Chili Quesadilla: grilled quesadilla stuffed with roasted red and green chile strips, mushrooms, sauteed onions, and cheese. This is garnished with diced tomatoes and cilantro, served with sour cream and guacamole. For your main course, a popular option is the Beef and Cheese Chimichanga: seasoned ground beef, mixed cheese fried in a flour tortilla. This is topped with chile con carne and queso, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream swirl, served with refried beans and Papas con Chile. The Quesadillas Al Horno-another favorite at Abuelo’s an oven-baked quesadilla with choice of fajita steak, fajita chicken, or spinach, topped with cheese and garnished with diced tomatoes and green onions, served with refried beans and Papas con Chile. If you are a fan of fajitas, try the Bacon-Wrapped Stuffed Shrimp Fajitas: wood grilled bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with jalapeno and blended cheeses, served with green onions, grilled onions, guacamole, sour cream, shredded cheeses, pico de gallo, and your choice of flour and/or corn tortillas. And don’t leave without grabbing dessert! Abuelo’s serves Flan, Dulce De Leche Cheesecake, Margarita Pie with Tequila Sauce, Tres Leche Cake, and a Chocolate Eruption.
Another good restaurant, located on Andrews Highway, is Clear Springs Cafe, a southern cooking restaurant.
Starter include Stingers (fresh jalapenos stuffed with their famous catfish and shrimp, served with homemade ranch), Fried Pickles, Shrimp Cocktail (six jumbo shrimp boiled in our own seafood seasoning, served with cocktail sauce and lemons), Cheese Sticks, and Buffalo Hot Wings (fried wings covered in homemade Buffalo sauce, served with homemade ranch and celery sticks). Every seafood dish is served with seasoned rice, green beans, and hush puppies. Try the Seafood Grill-blacked, farm-raised catfish fillet, charbroiled catfish fillet, and shrimp brochette. Or try the Grilled Shrimp: three skewers of lightly seasoned shrimp, grilled to perfection and served with garlic for dippin’. Or even better, try the Shrimp Brochette: three skewers of jumbo shrimp wrapped in thick cut hickory smoked bacon and stuffed with a jalapeno slice, then grilled to perfection. If you’re a little pickier, you might want to stick to a regular burger. The Old Fashion Hamburger is a half pound burger served with mustard, mayo, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and if you would like cheese. The Outlaw Burger is a half pound burger with tangy dill pickles, mustard, mayo, bacon, and melted cheese, topped with onion rings and barbecue sauce.
These are just a couple of Midland’s best restaurants. Hope you enjoy whatever you choose to munch on. Happy Eating!
